Welcome to the Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic
Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic serves low income individuals, groups, and service providers in the counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry. As a network of 79 provincial legal clinics funded by Legal Aid Ontario, we seek to be a source of light, enlightenment, and a beacon of hope for those seeking justice.
Services are available in both English and French and are provided with the utmost confidentiality.
What We Do?
Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic is a non-profit corporation, overseen by a board of directors based in the community. Our goal is to make the justice system more accessible through legal services such as:
community outreach
Clinique Juridique Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic works hard to be an active participant and partner in our communities of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. We recognize that legal problems for people living in poverty are wrapped up with their health, well-being and ability to thrive. Our goal is to center each person who we serve – not only to provide the assistance we can with their legal challenges but also to help them connect to help/support with all their needs.
To this end we work with and value the partnerships we have developed with individuals, organizations, agencies and committees across SDG.

Let's Discuss
your case
If you have a general question about the law, we may be able to provide you with an answer over the phone; but If you have questions about a specific legal problem , it is always best to schedule an appointment to meet with a member of our staff. That way we can provide you with legal advice and- we may be able to help you do what you need to on your own – or – may be able to become your legal representatives.
Public Legal Education
We want everyone to know about:
- their legal rights
- as well as the things they can do to not get into legal problems
- and what to do if they do get into these kinds of problems
- What we do at the Legal Clinic and how we might be able to help
We are excited to share this information through workshops, presentations or information fairs; or by connecting you with resources or referrals.
We are also happy to speak to you about what need for yourself or people you are working with. Just contact us and ask for the Community Legal Worker.
